Could you recover your business after a serious disaster like server failure, fire / flood damage, burglary, vandal intrusion or data sabotage?

And how long would it take?

Many business Directors assume that ‘yesterday’s back up tape’ will provide the rescue remedy without too much delay. If you do not already have a written Disaster Recovery plan, ask yourself or your IT Director or Manager this question today: ‘Exactly how long would it take our business to completely restore our entire server based working data and email archives in the event of a total Disaster Recovery situation, and do we have proof it would work?’

You might also want to know how much the business downtime would cost you in every sense.

Infosystems Backup recovery testing will give you a full report on how well your backup is performing, with a "traffic light" indicator to show key strengths and weaknesses, suggestions for any improvements and a full step by step guide on how to restore your system.

What is it?

It is most unlikely that you will ever have the time, resources or equipment to conduct a Full Backup Restore Exercise to a ‘bare-metal’ server to simulate real-time Disaster Recovery. We conduct a complete Disaster Recovery exercise, restoring your data to a comparable server while you work as normal. A complete System Restore Report provides comprehensive conclusions and recommendations. Our ‘Early Warning’ Risk Analysis highlights the exact time it would take to restore each and every critical server in your business. We charge per server not per method, so will test both your tape and your network attached storage for one reasonable price.

What’s in it?

Your System Recovery Pack includes a proven step by step ‘Restore Manual’ for each specific tested server detailing exactly how to recover it. It includes system restore discs and critical timed information. We will retain a copy for your security.A recovery blueprint, training plan, stage by stage instruction manual plus all necessary settings, passwords, licence information, contacts and technical information needed to recover your vital company data in the minimum time in an organised and confident fashion.

How useful is that to your business?

Can you imagine waiting to ‘test’ your back up restore capability under real life emergency conditions only to possibly discover that it does not work?

The consequences could then be truly ‘disastrous’. Hopefully it might never happen but we suggest you do not trust your business to hope alone. Test it now instead.

How do I get it?

Ask your Account Manager today to book a Disaster Recovery Meeting and Presentation.

A successful and robust storage backup regime requires more than just saving information onto removable storage media, such as tape or optical CD/DVD disc, and keeping it safe. Part of your IT Housekeeping regime should be regular file evaluation and testing to ensure backup is working properly and that individual data files stored can be retrieved. File Validation consists of periodically restoring a few folders and files from your backup media recommended at once a week or once a month, dependent on your needs. At a minimum you should plan for this at least once a quarter perhaps on your Infosystems Healthcheck Visit. In our experience a significant percentage of companies do not do the above as part of their own regular routine IT maintenance. This exercise alone is ‘light years’ away from the work involved in reconstructing your entire company server(s) data under DR conditions and complete Backup Restore Testing is recommended at least twice yearly.
